New life for tires

Recycling end-of-life tires allows obtaining secondary raw material of different grain sizes while separating other components, such as steel and textile fiber.

FOR REC machines are equipped with a multi-step cleaning system to ensure complete separation of the textile fiber and obtain a granulated product with 99 percent purity level. The suction system is supported by filters and fire-fighting systems for specific dust control in compliance with current regulations, including safety regulations.

Phases of the production cycle for tire treatment

  • Initial stage with extraction of the steel ring (truck tires)
  • Material shredding and reduction of the tire to obtain TDF (Tire derived fuel) for cement plants
  • Grinding involves reducing the material to 30 mm to allow separation of the steel, which is stored with different stages of magnetic separation
  • Granulation, which brings the material to a uniform size: 0:2 mm and 2:4 mm. At this stage the cleaning of the material from the last iron residues and textile fiber takes place.
