Recycling of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

Maximum component recovery and waste reduction

The WEEE recycling plant follows a production cycle capable of processing any type of discarded electrical and electronic equipment from the R2 and R4 categories.

The treatment combines manual labor with automation to maximize the value of all components, reducing waste and achieving “zero” environmental impact. This process uses low-speed machines supported by soundproof panels and a suction system, complying with current regulations on noise levels and dust emissions.

Separation of ferrous, non-ferrous, and plastic materials

The production cycle phases for WEEE treatment include:

  • Initial manual selection to control the input flow.
  • Opening of the equipment without altering the recoverable components through the use of two special-blade shredders.
  • Separation of components with coarse sizing and selection of larger parts: electric cables, hard drives, electronic boards, and smaller components such as motors, batteries, and capacitors.
  • Final fully automated phase, achieving a homogeneous 30mm particle size for unselected materials.
  • Separation of the material into three main fractions: ferrous, non-ferrous, and plastics.
